About Us

The Hand In Hand Multicultural Center has provided its services to the bilingual, disadvantaged, and general population of Springfield, Southwest Missouri, and beyond since January, 2000.

Hand In Hand Multicultural Center has extended its services to the people of Springfield, Southwest Missouri, and beyond since January, 2000.  The Center began in a corner of the founder’s home.  This grassroots “office” provided small English classes, a “small” counseling center,  tutoring groups, and medical mission trip planning.  With an ALL-volunteer staff,  operations and services began with no checking account or finances, few resources to share with others, but a GREAT DESIRE to provide sensitive, caring, professional services to the unreached, minorities, and disadvantaged families struggling with language barriers, financial needs, physical health, spiritual needs, mental health, and emotional needs, as well as the general population.

Since the beginning thousands of families and individuals have benefited from professional counseling and mental health services, health education workshops, language classes, financial education workshops, and translation and interpreting services provided at low  or no cost.  Funding is provided through grants, private donations, and partnerships with local organizations.  All services relate to teaching families to make healthier choices for healthier lifestyles.
